A Vlog of Birmingham VIVA vegan festival + Dr Michael Greger Afterparty! If you care about the future of Earth then you should consider veganism. Buying local & organic food, recycling, using public transport/cycling and supporting renewable energy are all worthy things to do but come secondary to the environmental impact of products from the meat and dairy industry, which are now so easy to boycott. By going vegan you also stop contributing to needless animal misery and suffering. With minimal effort you can get your vegan diet extremely tasty and well balanced and be stronger, more energetic and more resistant to disease. Go vegan: Save 1,100 gallons of water, 20 pounds CO2, 30 sq ft of forested land, 45 pounds of grain and one animal every day + live healthier and longer!

Find the cheap fruit wherever you are, hong kong, thailand, san diego, new york, or birmingham england, there is always a way to eat high carb! This is a no BS/ no gimmick approach to health and fitness. Are you ready to make the changes necessary in your life to attain the goals you desire? Look at your own health in an objective way, don't worry about what others may say, follow your heart and be honest with yourself. Rememebr that high carb low fat vegan diet is where it is at. Eating 80% of your total calories for the day are coming from carbs, 10% or less from fats, and 10% or less from protein. This vegan diet is the optimal diet for humans and is proven to work. You don't have to have a lot of money to eat an 80/10/10 diet. Eating healthy aka eating a high carb raw vegan diet will get you healthy in no time and having the weight just melt off of you! It is easy to eat healthy when you don't have a lot of money. Eating 80/10/10 diet was super easy when I was wwoofing in hawaii as well. I would buy 15 papayas for $4 and 80 bananas for $10. There are ways to eat healthy, you just have to do some planning and think about the best way to go about it. Basically eat until you are full whilst also making sure you get enough cals. So in other words being objective about how many cals you are getting is critical to realizing how much you need to eat, generally how much more you need to eat. This means that you may be full eating a veggie sandwich that you get from a vegan cafe. That's because the veggies are coated in fat (oil) and the sammy was drenched in more fat. So if we look at the profile of a human stomach and we see 200 cals worth of oil, it only takes up a small portion of the stomach, whereas 200 cal from, say, mango, will take up far more room because it is a complete food full of fibre, water, etc. The oil is devoid of these things and is a pure, refined fat which is extremely hard for the body to use, so it just throws it in your ass, gut, thighs, etc. I just say unlimited so that people get out of this calorie phobic, carbohydrate phobic mindset that is perpetuated though the mainstream media. For a typical human they need no less than 3000 cals a day, I always say if you are an olympic athlete you need to eat more, if you are a mom with 3 kids, you need to eat more. If you have a stressful job and commute, you need to eat more; life is a sport and if you want to live a passionate life, drug free, energy filled, and disease free, then you need to eat more, more fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens. If you want something, you will always find a way. If you don't want something, you will always find an excuse. Any and all excuses stem from a lack of desire and any and all great accomplishments stem from a great desire. Well said, Ted. If you want it, go get it! Sleep Water Sugar The three elements to healthy living Just some quick tips and tricks on the high carb low fat vegan diet. When I started out on the high carb vegan diet I was pretty lost without any guidance. So here I am to show you that it is not only possible but definitely certain that you will get slim and your optimal size on a high carb vegan diet. Bring on the carbs and lay off the fat because a high carb low fat diet is where it's at! 1) Lose the animal fat and protein and get off the cow nipple 2) Eat as many ripe, juicy, organic fruit as you possibly can, I do! 3) Make sure you are getting enough calories, about 10g of carbs per kilo of body weight 4) Get some blood work so you can see (after eating right for a while) if you are lacking any nutrient 5) Supplement only on a case by case basis and never longterm

Hello! I’m Deadpan Vegan. Welcome to my YouTube Channel. Subscribe for vegan events coverage, recipes, fitness and more! I am vegan 73.2% for the animals, 16.5% for the environment, 8.1% for the health benefits and 2.2% for the girls. In a little more detail: 1) Like the majority of people I hate discrimination and think it’s wrong to be racist, sexist or homophobic. I also extend this to animals by refusing to support animal cruelty; I love all animals equally, I am not speciesist. Why should a dog or cat be treated any different from a pig or cow? Why do lion trophy hunters make the news when millions of farm animals are murdered every day? 2) The environmental impact of animal agriculture is proven to be larger than any other industry. By going vegan I have reduced my carbon footprint more than giving up a car, or not having electricity! 3) The latest nutrition science has proven meat, dairy and eggs are directly linked to many diseases and cancers which I really want to avoid getting! Going vegan also made me stronger and more energetic and meant I explored food and cooking in more depth allowing me to reach new levels of taste bud satisfaction! I have never eaten meat and consumed a very low amount of dairy growing up which has caused me to have chronic protein and calcium deficiency syndrome. This means I only grew as tall as 190cm and to a body mass of 85kg ;-) My diet follows Dr Michael Greger’s recommendations as closely as possible: http://nutritionfacts.org/2011/09/12/dr-gregers-2011-optimum-nutrition-recommendations/ I get my selenium, iodine, vitamin D and vitamin B12 RDAs from the Vegan Society Veg1 chewable multivitamin tablet available online from The Vegan Society and Amazon and at various vegan shops. I get my marine algae-derived DHA and EPA RDAs from Cytoplan OMEGA 3 VEGAN capsules. The need for these is driven more by soil-mineral depletion, modern day sanitation and living in the northern hemisphere than it is from my boycott of animal products. I am concerned about the stigma surrounding supplements and the stubborn refusal from some vegans to take them. Sure, I get a fair amount of sunlight, drink fortified soya milk and regularly consume pink Himalayan salt, milled flaxseed and walnuts, but for the very low cost and practicality of supplements, isn’t it better to be safe than sorry? 4) The vegan community is full of beautiful, lovely women. I am one of the admins for the Facebook group BIRMINGHAM VEGANS and we host vegan social events on average once a week, usually in Birmingham City Centre. https://www.facebook.com/groups/birminghamvegans Our group ethos is to welcome the vegan-curious at the same time as encouraging the transition to full veganism in as positive a way as possible. The group is an amazing vegan community with over 2100 members, growing at a rate of about 7 new members a day. Our Group is sponsored by the Vegan ShopNatural Healthy Foods’ round the corner from Selfridges/Moor Street Station. I am also a Local Contact for the Vegan Society for the Birmingham Area. Get in touch if you need any vegan help and support. If you are considering going vegan I recommend signing up to the Vegan Society 30 day vegan pledge: https://www.vegansociety.com/go-vegan/take-vegan-pledge I also do standup and comedy guitar, check out my other channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3aD40h6v7TSPeSQbvGmCNA

Link to Sandra Higgin's full interview on BBC West Midlands: https://archive.org/details/SandraHigginsOnWM956 This was an amazing day. I absolutely love the adverts, so great to see. Whether you like them or not, you have to give these guys some credit, they are having a huge impact. Super cool to meet them and toast to all of Birmingham going fucking vegan! Subscribe for vegan events coverage, recipes, fitness and more! I am a Chartered Electrical Engineer, especially interested in renewable energy. I am vegan primarily for the animals but I am also very interested in environmental sustainability and the health benefits of a whole food plant based diet. I was vegetarian since birth and drank soya milk all my life. I have been strictly vegan around 3.5 years. In my free time I lead the Facebook Group Birmingham Vegans, which now has over 4100 members and is growing at a rate of around 150 people a month. I host an average of 3 vegan social events per month in Birmingham to help build a community and help people make like minded friends. I also think the socials are a great form of activism because they encourage people to go vegan, stay vegan and become stronger, prouder activists.
